“VINTAGE REVERE”

Paul Revere Junior High School 1961 – 1962 Class Film

Now Available On DVD!

Nobody forgets their first day at a big new school. Just look at that overarching entryway: the portal to what adventures or to what torments? As sixth graders we topped the elementary school heap. Paul Revere Junior High School was a giant step for us as freshman seventh graders. Do you remember being called Scrub? Getting lost between classes? The locker that wouldn’t open? Carrying all those books? The big kids? Three years later we were the big kids, and the Revere routine was a done deal for most of us.

“Vintage” showcases the graduating classes of 1962. We see students going about the business of the day; participating in special events; hamming it up for the camera; or just standing in the rain at the Nutrition line. You’ll recognize friends and familiar faces in this nostalgic collection of clips. Remember the Revere Teens dances? The A9 vs. B9 football and basketball games? Our Student Leaders? Student Court? The teachers and the administrators? It’s all there!

I enjoyed watching! Notwithstanding the production value of the early 60’s film, this DVD presents nearly 15 minutes of well-preserved silent footage in color. It’s no James Dean movie, but the life and times of Paul Revere Patriots in 1962 is thoroughly evoked - and the rest is history. Personal history. We each have a hall locker full of that. “Vintage” delivers fun and funny memories, and opens up some fine introspective time as well.

Many thanks to Revere S’62 classmate Jack McDowell. He generously produced and now offers this DVD, FREE of charge. A voluntary donation of any amount to the Paul Revere PTSA is suggested and information on doing so is included with the package. Please contact Jack: jmcdowell@socal.rr.com. Give your name and mailing address, and request “Vintage Revere” for free.
